Meet Elaine

I am a wife and the mother of three amazing children who have all been educated through the Forsyth County School system. My youngest is a Junior at Denmark High School. Over the 21 years I have lived in this area I have been involved in the schools as a mentor/sponsor/coach for Science Olympiad, Robotics, and Battle of the Books. Outside of school, I served our community as a Girl Scout co-leader, court-appointed special advocate (CASA), Board Member of the Forsyth Community Clinic, Director in my Optimist International Chapter, and Second Vice Chair of the Forsyth County Democratic Committee.
I am a nurse with 30 years of experience in healthcare and the health insurance industry. I graduated from Emory University with a BSN in Nursing, and I have worked in Grady Hospital as well as hospitals in North Metro Atlanta. After working in the hospital for many years, I became a case manager for Home Depot and later AIG. Over the course of my career, healthcare has become more complicated and more expensive. Affordable Healthcare is paramount to a strong, thriving community and is an issue that I am passionate about.
While working as a nurse and starting a family, I continued my education and received an MBA in Finance from Kennesaw State University. I left nursing and with my husband, we became entrepreneurs and launched multiple successful businesses. We sold our last two businesses a few years ago, which has allowed me more time to serve our community by running for office. This area is a great incubator for small businesses. As a small business owner, I know the challenges that small businesses face and I want to address these challenges to make it easier for other small business owners to also succeed.
As my children are older now, I can increase the amount of time spent serving our community. I became a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to work with children in our foster care system. I also work as a Board Member and nurse volunteer to help those without medical insurance receive care through our Forsyth Community Clinic. Through Optimist International I serve our local children through programs and awards.

I am excited for the chance to serve Georgia House District 25!

Together, we can keep our communities safe, help small businesses to start and flourish, and restore a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions with her family and her doctor, not politicians.
